Obituary for Cheryl MacDonald

At home near Nanticoke on October 9, 2016 in her 65th year after a long battle with colon cancer.
Beloved wife of Dan Riley, devoted mother of Catherine (Tim Arenburg) and doting grandmother of Breanna and Caitlyn. Cheryl was a writer with a deep interest in history who authored forty books, as well as writing Heritage Lane, a long-running history column for the Simcoe Times Reformer, plus a history column for the Haldimand Press. In 2012 she received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of her work researching and promoting Canadian local history. Cremation has already taken place. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Cheryl's memory may give to the Canadian Cancer Society or a museum or historical society of their choice.
The family extends its thanks to Cheryl's support team at CCAC and CBI for their care and concern including Jenna Smith, Lora Van Berlo, Maureen Russell and the support of the V.O.N. home care.
