Condolences

Condolence From: Ken Atkinson
Condolence: I had heard Don had passed away and I wanted to tell this story, especially for Don's children . I had signed up for hockey in Stoney Creek for the 1966/67 season [ Bantam ], but I had moved to the west end of Hamilton during the season, I still got to play for Stoney Creek under the rules. Don knew that I had no way to get to our Saturday morning practices which started at 6:30 am, he offered to pick me up in the west end of Hamilton at 5:30 am in the morning and I took him up on his offer. I will never forget the generosity and kindness from this man. My condolences to Wendy, Don and Kim.

Condolence: Dear Wendy, Kim and Donald,
I send my condolences to all of you. Mr K was one of a kind, as I'm sure you know. He was thoughtful and kind. One memory I have of him was he'd always greet me with a warm smile and tell me the weather report (with a warning to drive carefully) as I was leaving for school each morning. One thing I missed a lot when Don and Wendy moved out was their way of making neighbours feel like family. Your father/husband was wonderful person and will always be remembered for that. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
xo Laura

Condolence: Hi Wendy, Kim, Donald and family. I am so sorry about your loss. My heart and prayers go out to all of you. I just want to say, Don will be missed.

I would like to share a memory or two of life growing up next to him.

I remember as a pre teen/young adult being a little "mischievous" and Don on quite a few occasions had to give me a talk or two to set me straight! I look back now and appreciate it, as a kid I may not have had the same feelings. I now know he was just looking out for my best interests. I also miss the Habs/Leafs rivalry that went on for many years, including multiple pranks to each other. was a lot of fun, very fond memories.

I wish I would have been able to attend his celebration of life, and seen you all.
My condolences again, Matt Appelman

Condolence: Dear Wendy, Donald and Kim
We were so sorry to hear that Don has passed away. You have our deepest sympathy. It really is a small world when we realized that Don was the coach of Chris' hockey team - as we hadn't seen you, Wendy, since our days at Turkey Point and mutual friends in Brantford. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
The Schormann Family: Dieter, Carolyn, Chris, Bettina and Steve.

Condolence: Wendy & extended family,
Please accept my sincere condolences.
Don was a great competitor - knowledgeable, respected, great sense of humour and one of the sales icons in the Ontario wine industry, during its formative years.
He will be missed.
